Has anyone converted their puddle lights to LEDs? I’m really interested in doing it but not sure if it’s possible. It’s the last light I need to change, and it bothers me that it doesn’t match the others.
Just to make sure we’re talking about the same thing, the puddle lights are the ones under the side mirrors, right? If so, I’ve done it on my 2011-2014 Focus. It’s a pretty simple swap. You’ll need to carefully pop out the side mirror, which you can do by gently prying behind the glass with a flathead screwdriver (be sure to protect the glass with a towel). Once the mirror is out, you can pull the light out and replace it with an LED bulb.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the help! Do you know the exact bulb I need for this?

It depends on your car’s specifics, but your owner’s manual should have the right bulb listed. I used a set from Amazon—194 LED Car Bulb T10 158 2825 W5W. I got a pack of 10 for about $9.99 back then.
Hope that helps!

Update: I changed out the driver’s side! But… I broke the mirror on the passenger side
@Jesse
Oh no! I’m really sorry to hear that! I did mention being gentle (not rubbing it in now). Is it the same bulb? You should be able to find a replacement mirror on eBay.

The bulbs seem similar, and it’s working! Now I just have to figure out how to switch the passenger side without a mirror so the lights don’t look mismatched
@Jesse
That’s rough! Sorry you have to deal with that. Hopefully, it doesn’t cost too much.

Quick update! I ended up having enough FordPass points to cover almost everything—only paid $12 for an OEM mirror from fordparts.com! So the whole project ended up being a success: LED puddle lights and no more broken mirror!
@Jesse
Glad it all worked out! Thanks for sharing!
What H11 bulbs did you use? They look great and match the DRLs perfectly!

Honestly, I’m not sure. I had a local shop that does my yearly inspection install them for me, but they turned out amazing! I was really impressed with how well they matched.
