Anyone else dealing with squeaky windows on the 24 Focus or just the MK4 in general?

I’ve been having a weird squeaky sound from the windows on my 2024 Ford Focus. Anyone else experience this? Is it just a common issue with the MK4 models?

I just want to say it sucks that these aren’t available in the US. I love how they look.

Yeah, it’s a shame they’re not sold in the US. They’re really solid cars. But even in the UK, the insurance is pretty terrible, so there’s always a downside.

@Bao
We used to get them, but after all the issues with the MK3’s transmission, Ford stopped selling the Focus here. It’s strange, because the MK3 sold really well. A fixed MK4 would have done even better, especially with the way it looks. I’ve got an SVT (ST170 in the UK) and I’m holding onto it for as long as I can.

And yeah, I’ve heard UK insurance is brutal.

@Vaughn
That’s tough. I’d love to mod mine but I can’t risk the insurance going up even more. Gonna wait a few years until it’s more affordable. I only managed to get the 123 bhp version because of the price and insurance. Would love to get the 155 or the ST in the future though. Got any pics of your SVT?

@Bao
You think the insurance is bad on a 1.0L Focus? Try something with actual power!

I know, right? Anything more and I’d be paying through the nose.

I agree 100%. I’ll never get why they stopped making them. Just give me a 2L, no EcoBoost, manual transmission, and a wagon. Perfect combo.

@Palmer
It’s a real shame. There are barely any wagons left in the US. Looks like I’ll be stuck with an SUV in the near future.

@Palmer
A lot of the newer ones are EcoBoosts of different sizes. Mine’s a 1.5, and it’s been fine. I used to have a 1.6 EcoBoost MK3 and never had any problems.

@Palmer
Exactly. Couldn’t agree more.

You beat me to it! I was just about to rant about how frustrating it is that we can’t get these here.

Wait, they still make the Focus? I thought Ford stopped making them.

Yeah, they’re stopping soon, but you can still get the 2024 models. It’s the last run.

Yep, I got mine in February, it’s the MK4.5.

@Amari
I really like mine, but I’d love to get the ST version. How’s yours treating you?

I had the ST-line MK4 with 182hp before, and I had a lot of fun with that one. Now, I’ve got the ST X MK4.5, and it’s awesome. In sport mode, it’s a blast to drive through the countryside. The pops from the exhaust are a nice touch too. The new screen is great, and wireless CarPlay works better than I expected.

@Amari
That sounds amazing! Now I want one even more. Thanks for the info.

Just a heads up though, the interior is basically the same as the ST-Line. But I love the new Ford Performance seats—they’re super comfy. The ST suspension is nice too, not too rough, but you can definitely feel more. And the extra horsepower makes it even more fun. Dropping a few gears to pass slow cars and hearing the exhaust pop never gets old!

@Amari
I agree with everything you said. My 182bhp version is quick and fun to drive, but a little extra power would be nice. The only thing I like more on the ST-Line X is the wheel design. I think the blade shape looks a bit smarter.
