I just bought a 2013 Focus Titanium, and I’m having trouble with the display. It keeps restarting every 30 seconds to 1 minute—turning on and off repeatedly. After a few minutes, it starts working normally again. Everything else on the display, like fuel and temperature, seems to be working fine.
Does anyone know what could be causing this?
There was a TSB for this sometimes back.
13-06-27 is the TSB for the IPC
Heads up, some 2012-2013 Focus vehicles built on or before 2013 may exhibit an inoperative IPC on vehicle start-up.
Consider preforming an update preferably from the Ford dealer. They need to flash the newest software version for the IPC.
I did some digging on the internet and found some information though I’m not sure if Ford will do this for my car in Argentina. Thx for the info
Did you have this exact problem? In my car, the display works at first, but then it turns on and off, at a 30-sec interval. Then, after a few minutes, it starts working just fine.
I had mine fixed about a year after I bought it in 2012. I don’t remember the exact problem, but I do recall that they did an update to fix it.
probably an issue with the cluster’s internal electronics. It might need a diagnostic to pinpoint the issue.
I had a similar problem with mine. A software update from the dealer fixed it for me, and never had to worry about it again
Sounds more like a software glitch or a loose connection.
