I just filled all the tires on my 2008 Ford Focus to 35 PSI, but now there’s an alert on the dash. What does this mean? Is it serious, and how much does it usually cost to fix? Thanks in advance for your help!
The alert means one or more of your tire sensors (TPMS) has stopped working. It’s usually due to the sensor’s battery dying. Replacements typically cost around $80 at tire shops, but labor will add to that. If you check your tire pressure regularly, it’s not urgent to fix.
It’s your Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). On older models like your 2008, it might use band-mounted sensors for steel rims. Replacement sensors for aluminum rims (like the TPMS-12) are under $40 if you buy genuine Motorcraft ones. A shop can install and sync them for about $10-$15 per tire, but prices might be higher depending on where you go.
Did you double-check that all your tires are at the same pressure, around 35 PSI?

Yes, I made sure they’re all at 35 PSI, but the light is still on.
You need to go into the car’s menu and manually reset the tire pressure warning. That should clear the alert.
