Goodbye Focus, it was a good run

P07A3—stuck actuator fork. You’d need new forks, a clutch, and a throwout bearing. That’s a $3k-$5k repair. RIP Focus.

I’m looking at $1,800 total for repairs: $500 for a clutch kit, $60 for fluid, and $1,200 for labor at a local shop. Dealerships charge way too much, even though the OEM clutch is from Luk.

@Porter
Dealership prices are high because of overhead costs, but if your local shop knows the DPS6 well, you should be good.

@Avery
I cleaned the A actuator after it threw this code, but it didn’t help.

@Shea
You’re not supposed to idle with your foot on the brake in an automatic. Put it in neutral to avoid overheating.

That’s not correct for this transmission.

Another Focus bites the dust. Godspeed.

When mine started acting up, I found clutch dust clogging the forks. Could be the same for yours.

Replacing my clutch and forks next week. Can’t wait!

Was this a PowerShift automatic?

Yep, the DCT6.

Good to know. I just bought a 2017 with a DCT450 (wet clutch), and I’ve heard it’s much better than the dry clutch DCT250.

PowerShit

Mine died two weeks ago—bad TCM.

Rest in parts. My Focus is at 193k too. Let’s see who lasts longer.

Would a transmission fluid change help? I just got the same code and haven’t changed mine in a while.

Years of clutch dust have clogged the forks, and the only fix is replacing the clutch, forks, and bearing. It’s more time and money than I’m willing to invest in a car with nearly 200k miles. She’s been great on gas, but it’s time to move on.
