Does anyone know how to fix this myself? Looking for a DIY solution.
It depends on how much you’re willing to spend. A drill bit and some zip ties could work if you’re on a budget.
Or you could try using some PDR (Paintless Dent Repair) on the quarter panel and maybe buy a new bumper bracket to reconnect the bumper.
@Kelly
Thanks for the idea! But wouldn’t it make it look a little tacky?

Using zip ties like that is actually pretty common. You can look it up for examples. Maybe find some gray zip ties to blend in better.
But for sure, you need to secure the bumper. Otherwise, it’ll just flap around when you’re on the highway.
Sadly, DIY work won’t look as good as professional work, but you can still fix it with glue tabs. There are some YouTube tutorials about using glue tabs for body work.
I’ll probably end up using a bumper clip.
It’s a Focus, it’s not worth it.

Are you saying I should just drive it like this and not fix it?

Yeah. Focuses aren’t worth much in North America. Looks like a hatchback model? 2018 was the last year for the Focus in North America. I had one, paid too much for it, and after 59k miles, the bumper and fender area chipped and rusted. When I sold it in 2023 with 114k miles, it was worth $11k.
@Amir
Got it now, it’s the Estate version. I’m in the UK and got it from Copart.

You bought a wreck and have no idea how to fix it? It was totaled because the repairs were too expensive.
@Jin
That’s actually the only issue with it, and it was cheap too… haha.

If it’s a MK3, check if the bumper is missing a fastener. Mine had the same issue and it turned out one of those small fasteners just came off.
@Indra
That’s the exact issue, the fastener broke off.
@Indra
How did you fix it?
