Opinions on the Ford Focus SVT (2002-2004)

I’ve got a 2003 SVT with 130k miles and love it. It’s a great mix of performance, cost, and utility. It’s fun to drive, gets decent mileage, and the hatch is surprisingly practical. Maintenance can be frustrating—thermostat housing issues and oxygen sensors are common for me—but the Recaro seats are amazing. It’s a fun, practical-ish car.

I raced a friend’s SVT Focus in my stock 3.8L V6 Camaro and smoked him every time. If you’re looking for speed, a GTI might be a better option.

I stopped reading at “V6 Camaro.”

@Perrin
Fair enough, but anything should beat a V6 Camaro, and the SVT didn’t.

To be fair, the SVT Focus is built for corners, not straight-line drag races.
