I have a 2019 Focus and auto stop start has stopped kicking in - the auto stop start switch is on and the green symbol is showing on my dash, however there is another unlit stop start symbol at the bottom with a line through it?
have you tried checking the battery??
I’ve got a new battery fitted earlier this week.
Could that be an issue?
When I had this problem, it was because my battery was dying. When you replace the battery, make sure to get one that is made for stop-start systems, because not all batteries work with that.
Halfords do put in a stop-start battery for me. I just called them, and they’re coming back to check if it needs to be paired with my car.
I really hope it works after that!
They probably forgt to reset the battery management system sensor. This is a mix of light switches and the hazard light button. You need to do this after changing the battery, or the car won’t know there’s a new battery and won’t turn on the start-stop feature.
Also, many cars change how the alternator works based on the battery’s health. If you don’t do the reset, it can shorten the life of your new battery.
