If you can find a wrecked or parted-out Focus with a manual transmission, you could swap it. Might be worth around $6,000 if you do it yourself. I love my manual—it’s way more fun to drive.
Sold mine with fewer miles for $800. The transmission is junk, and Ford’s issues with it are pretty well known. There’s a class-action lawsuit, so if you hold onto it, you might get a check for like $5 someday.
I sold my 2013 with 60k miles and a new TCM for $2,000 last year. I knew it was junk, and so did the buyer. Just wanted it gone, so I listed it on Marketplace and sold it within hours.
