For the rear wiper, it might just be a bad motor or switch. I’ve replaced a few wiper motors before.
Here in Florida, we don’t deal with the cold as much. My Focus needs a transmission, but I might get lucky and just need to fix the solenoid or PCM. Got my 2008 SE for $600. Found a used transmission for another $600. Bought new shift solenoids, just need to get it on ramps and drop the pan. Being disabled makes it tough, but I can’t afford to hire a mechanic.

I paid $500 for mine, so I’m not too bothered. It’s only got 129K miles, but it wasn’t treated well by the previous owner.
When I fixed this, I realized my soldering iron wasn’t strong enough for thicker wires. Need to upgrade.

Ford probably didn’t leave enough slack for the wires to move, so as they got old and brittle, they just cracked apart.
