Someone just backed out of buying my 2013 Focus 5-speed at the last minute because they said it might have power steering problems. Is that common? I’ve never heard of any usual power steering issues with this model.
As these cars get older, the electric power steering might have problems. Sometimes, this can happen just because the battery is low, but in the worst case, you might need a new steering rack.
If they skipped the manual Mk3, they’re really missing something special.
seems like they did just that. It looks like someone missed out because they were too careful.
Mine would sometimes stop working. I’d turn off the car and try again, and that usually fixed it. Since I got a new alternator and battery, there haven’t been any problems. The issues aren’t common, but the automatic transmission (which you don’t have) can be a real problem.
I’m not sure if it’s common, but mine broke. It cost about $1k to replace. It uses electric power and needs to be programmed. I have the DSP6 model. Spending that $1k felt like a bad choice at first, but we’ll see how it goes.
It was quite common on Fusions but for focus i’m not quite sure.
The foci man, please, read the rules for petes sake
