Focuses are great and all, but I wouldn’t sink that much time or money into a front-wheel-drive economy car. Plus, restoring that interior would be a massive job. At 200k, it’s served well.

Yeah, I hear you. More of a fun project idea, not to throw thousands into it… just something to learn on, especially if you could pick it up for around $200.

My cousin put over 100k miles on it in less than seven years. It’s definitely been through a lot.
I have a 2012 5-speed with 207k miles on it. They’re solid cars, but yeah, front end work and new engine mounts are in my future. Just picked up a secondary car so I can work on this one slowly. Hoping to get another 100k out of it if possible. The gearbox is still solid, and the clutch isn’t even close to needing a replacement. If my engine dies in the next 50k, I’d still consider dropping in a new one.
That car is done for, honestly. Wouldn’t even touch it.

I do car detailing as a side gig, and I told him it wasn’t worth the 3-day cleanup it would need. An extractor would cost more than the car itself. It’s sad, though… he thought he was only parking it for a week, but life got busy, and he left a window down by accident. When he came back, it was beyond saving. I might call my own ST the ‘Turbo Mouse’ now, for old times’ sake.
