In 2015, my Focus SE was rear-ended in standstill traffic by a drunk driver going over 80 mph. I walked away with just bruises on my stomach and knee. I’ll always be grateful that the Focus protected me when it mattered most.
I bought it at 60k miles, and it was totaled at 135k.
The only reason I’m giving this an upvote is that you’re okay.
Hope you’re doing alright after that… You should definitely get a lawyer involved. You might not feel all the pain now because of adrenaline.

Totally agree, some injuries take a few days or even weeks to show up.

Yeah, whiplash doesn’t always show up immediately. Took almost two weeks for mine to hit after an accident.

Yeah, OP said they were in standstill traffic. No way that was 80mph. I’m glad they’re fine, but the speed sounds exaggerated.

Maybe the other driver was doing 80mph and OP was going 60? I get what you mean though. At 80mph, the car would’ve been wrecked way more if OP was at a complete stop.

I got rear-ended at 45mph once, and the back of my car was completely squished. This does look rough, but not sure about 80mph. How’s your neck? Mine hurt for months after my accident.
