What's going on with this Low Beam connector? Is it broken or what?

So I’ve been trying to replace my low beam lights and it’s not working like every store and online tutorial says. I have a 2017 Ford Focus SE Sedan and I’m trying to get LED bulbs. Can anyone help figure out what’s going on?

This looks like the socket for a H7 dipped beam bulb. You just need to push the 2 prongs into the 2 holes.

You should know what bulb you removed though.

Yeah, it’s definitely H7. You can see the cutout for the three tabs on the bulb on the light itself.

By the way, the corrosion on the upper wire needs some attention too.

My manual says it’s H11 though.

H11 has a different connection, man.

I get that, but I’m trying to figure out if it’s actually H11 or something else. Is my manual wrong, or are these not the stock connections?

@Riley
I think you need H7.
It looks like the same fitting I replaced in my other car. H11 was what I had for the fog lights on my old Focus, but the new one doesn’t even have fogs.

What does it say on the outside of the lens? The OEM bulbs are usually marked on the lens for low and high beams.

Do you have the bulb that came out? It should have markings on the connector, or we can use that to figure it out.

A loose connection can cause heat to build up. They actually sell a part at the store where you can splice it in to fix that.

H7, and yeah, that corrosion really needs to be addressed. It looks like it’s melted, which could be a problem if it keeps getting worse.

You need to replace that connector. It’s probably causing some of the issues.

These don’t look like OEM headlights. Cheap replacement ones usually use H7.

I don’t remember mine looking like that when I swapped the bulbs. Are you sure these headlights aren’t aftermarket?

Honestly, I’d be more worried about the melted plastic and the bad connection. If that’s not fixed, it could mess with anything you try to put back in.
